Face and Body Waxing

What is waxing? What are the benefits? Why should I wax instead of shave?

There are many benefits to waxing versus other forms of hair removal. It is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time. It is a long-lasting method, as hair in waxed areas will not grow back for two to eight weeks. When hair is shaved or removed by depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface rather than the hair root. Within a few days, the hair can reappear back at the surface. With these methods, hair tends to grow back in a rough stubble. Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time often exhibit regrowth that is softer. Let us give you smooth, hair free skin!

There are two kinds of wax, namely hard wax and soft wax. Soft wax is removed using so-called strips. Hard wax is left to harden up and then removed without strips. Soft wax is use for larger areas whereas hard wax is only used for sensitive areas such a the face, bikini-line, and under-arms. Hard wax attached only to the hairs, not to the skin, making the treatment less painful.

Waxing helps with:

Smooth and even skin. One of the best benefits of waxing is that your skin will feel smooth and even. When waxing, you not only remove unwanted hair—you also wax away any dry and dead skin cells in the process.

No cuts. With waxing, you aren’t at risk to any cuts or nicks that can leave you with scars from shaving.

Stubble free skin – Waxing removes unwanted hair completely, from its roots. Shaving, on the other hand, often results in stubbles, leaving your skin feeling rough and abrasive.

Irritation and allergies-free. There are minimal chemicals involved in the waxing process, so rarely does waxing cause any skin irritation or allergy.

Slow hair re-growth. After waxing, the regrowth of your hair is very slow, often taking 4 to 6 weeks. As well, many say that they have found their hair to be finer, after the regrowth.

For the first 24 hours after waxing:

  • Don’t take a hot shower or a hot bath;
  • Don’t sunbathe or use a sunbed
  • Don’t go swimming;
  • Don’t use any scented products, self-tanning creams or other oily creams;
  • Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothes, no tight clothes or clothes which don’t breathe.
